love the forest colours, sturdy tent
i found this tent easy to put up and it was fine the one windy night i used it in. but i have not put it through its paces yet or tested it in the rain. surprisingly the length seemed only just right, even though i'm only 5 foot 10 inches - 170cms.
the netting on the roof was great for stargazing if its not raining and you dont need the fly. the off-centre door with built in separatly opening window is a very good idear, of course you have to sleep that way round.

Backcountry Solo
I took this tent backpacking about an hour down into a gorge to camp for the weekend along a local river.

Positives:

The tent was easy to setup and looks to be of high quality workmanship. It had plenty of room and I like the fact that you can see what is going on outside the tent with the rain fly attached. There is a small window up high on the back side and a larger window that can be closed on the front. Another advantage is that you can put your head at either end of this tent so you can orient the door to be facing which ever direction you desire and still have your head on the higher end of the sloping ground.

Negatives:

A little too heavy for someone trying to minimize weight. I added a thin plastic ground cloth and I think the tent was around 4.5 pounds. Also, I did not like the way the tent looked compared to other sleeker solo tents that I have seen, both in color and in style. Also, in the morning there was condensation on the walls of the tent, and it only got down to about 60 degrees at night. I sent it back to Amazon and they were quick to give me a full refund. Not a bad tent, just not exactly what I am looking for.

Great so far
Slept a week straight in it after I got it, and slept like a rock. Had to stake it down when it got windy, though: the thing's like a wind sail with its rain guard on. Setting up the tent and taking it down was incredibly easy. I got it down to two minutes by the end of the week.

Great for backpacking.
If you are looking for a fairly light tent for backpacking, look no futher. This tent offers easy set up and is free standing, so if you are hiking in the Grand Canyon or any other firm terrain, you won't have to worry about bent tent spikes. This tent is roomy, airy and will keep you dry. Plenty of pockets to keep personals and room to sit up and stretch those aching muscles. Packs down in a very compact bundle. As far as previous comments about the rain fly pole, it just takes a little effort to engage it. I would not recommend shortening it as it would make the fly looser than desired.
Overall, I highly recommend this tent. For the price and the quality of Eureka, it is a exceptional value.

fantastic tent
This tent far exceeded my expectations. It is well worth the price. Excellent for use on backpacking trips. The bag the tent goes in is not too small like many tents i've seen. It's large enough that you don't have to work extra hard to try and squeeze in in the sack. It's a light weight tent which i like very much.
