I've used these things for the past 20 years - hiking, whitewater canoeing, and biking. I even bought my drysuit with a men's relief zipper in the front so I can wear men's style long john pants, although it's esp. handy when just wearing shorts in the summer. I have a small zippered bag that I store it in, along with a clean sandwich baggie (for after it's used) and a small bottle of Purell. The Purell's only needed on a two-pee trip!

I just went on a trip and didn't need to use it. But knowing it was there let me venture out a bit further than I might have. I've tested it and it does seem to work. The tube is a separate piece if you were wondering like I was. So it does fit in my fanny pack for hiking. The "travel pouch" is only a zip-lock bag (about 8 1/4 x 4 3/8) with printing and diagrams on the outside so I need to find a better way to keep it private, store it damp and store it dry.

We went hiking with my daughter and about 200 people of her school. It was a 9 km walk!!! My 9-year-old and her classmates all flew up the hill and the rest of us (parents)went on and on chatting! When it came to finding a "private" place to pee it was a problem... as a woman it is unconfortable to pull down your pants and pretend that no body is going to watch your behind....NOT FOR ME!!!! NOT A CHANCE!!! WITH THIS ITEM I JUST UNZIPPED MY PANTS AND... VOILA!!! AMAZING!!!!! NO BUTTOCKS ON THE AIR!!! NO SHAME!!! WONDERFUL.... I EVEN BOUGHT ONE FOR MY DAUGHTER AND ONE FOR MY MOM!!! LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!

This product is a must-have for every female who travels, or who often finds herself without adequate bathroom facilities. I'm in the Army, and we often go out on training conducted outdoors or get deployed to areas where we have to sustain ourselves for long periods of time in areas that are not equipped with luxurious bathroom facilities, if any at all. When these times arrive, the Freshette has ALWAYS come in handy. Not only is it reusable (just rinse it out well with water), but its sleek, compact design allows it to be taken anywhere and used at anytime. Plus, you can use it in the presence of males without exposing your entire bottom half at all. All you need to do is unzip the fly of your pants and position it behind your underwear with the hose facing out.

And even if you aren't a traveler or outdoors-y person, the Freshette is ideal for use in public restrooms when you don't want to expose yourself to the germs of a nasty toilet seat.

I cannot recommend this product highly enough! Also, do not let the person who reviewed this product before me sway your decision. They did not do enough research on it beforehand. The Freshette can be used if you are bedridden, but it requires the purchase of an extension tube, which I think is available through the manufacturer's website (www.freshette.com).

This product is definitely worth every penny. Seriously.

This is the best thing for women since sliced bread. I use it for bass fishing on our boat 1-2 days a week and GREAT for tournament fishing. I wish I had it when we did a lot of dirt bike riding (It's hard to find a good place to hide in the desert surrounded by men waiting for you to hurry up)!!. Easy to use but I do recommend practicing at home first to get the hang of it. It takes some willpower to relax enough while standing. Thank you so much for figuring it out for us!!! I've already recommended it to several women and my husband tells everyone he knows!!
