great bag
this bag has plenty of room, is warm and comfortable even just to lay on top of to nap in the afternoon - the stuff bag was hard enough to get off - didn't even try to put it back in - instead got some straps to keep it rolled and will be looking for a large duffle bag for storage 2008-09-21

Happy
The double sleeping bag is great....everything I expected. Getting it back in the bag is the hard part. But well worth the purchase. 2008-09-16

Who Designed this stupid sleeping bag?
This sleeper that claims to be a big double sleeping bag is actually smaller than 2 sleeping bags put together. is that a double bag? then to top it off it only has a zipper on one side. now this is a thick sleeping bag, but if you get hot and can't open the zipper it is a nightmare. also if you get claustrophobic (spelling error!) you can't sleep on the inside, and my pregnant wife needs to be able to get in from the side. we wanted to return it, but spending $35 to send it back defeats the purpose when we only paid 87 dollars for it in the first place. if the other stuff isn't enough the bag that comes with it is at least 6 inches smaller than it should be. you should be able to get it in and then use the compression straps. we had enought trouble getting it in the dang bag. needless to say we are looking for another bag that at least has zippers on both sides! 2008-08-29

Very nice sleeping bag.
This Guide Gear canvas double sleeping bag is huge. It is very comfortable and cushy. The canvas isn't the really thick heavy-duty canvas you would normally think of but it is still nice and durable.
This bag is too large and cumbersome to use while tent camping unless you have a huge SUV to pack and an even bigger tent. It will be perfect to use in a house, trailer, or camper.
It is true that the stuff sack that it stores in is hard to use but it is needed in order to make the sleeping bag a small enough size for storage or packing for travel. I am very good at packaging things and I did manage to repack the sleeping bag in the stuff sack but it took me 20 minutes! And when I finished I realized that four of my knuckles had broken blisters on them from stuffing the canvas!
Finally, the black straps on the stuff sack have cheap threading on them. They should have used denim thread. The straps don't do much anyway so it isn't a problem.

Great bag, Great Price
If you want a double bag for cold weather camping this is it. It really is a double bag, not two singles zipped together like some others. The canvas cover is tough enough for any camping style. The only minor drawback is the carrying sack. It is made of the same tough canvas but it is just a little small for this heavy insulated bag, you can plan on quite a tussle to get the bag stuffed back into the carry sack. If the sack was just a little bigger it would be perfect. 2007-12-14
