Throwing Knives
I started teaching my daughter knife throwing for use as a potential "dating skill". I got her this set and we are very happy. I personally have the large Hibben throwers. The smaller handles on this set allows smaller hands a better grip. I use these knives as well. However, there is something about the slight crescent shape that is awkward. I use a Dremel tool to sharpen the knives after each usage. The blades hold an excellent edge. 2008-07-14

nice set
This is a nice set of throwing knives. The design of the knives and quality of the steel is outstanding. The balance is perfect.
They throw like a dream.
The only drawback is the sheath. It is a pitiful thing of thin nylon.
Not really suited to the task. It will shred pretty quickly and will need replacement. A heavier Cordura version would be better
Overall I am pleased.
It was a great product for the price.

Unbeatable Hibben Quality...
These Throwers are absolutely perfect for the users at the intermediate level. I started off with a few sets of cheap 1/8" thick junk knives to practice with... but after a couple weeks of throwing and bending them, it was time to upgrade. I bought the smaller version of these throwers (these ones with the 3" blade), and after using them only once, I was so impressed that I immediately bought this larger set. What a difference! The feel and weight of a Hibben in your hand makes knife throwing a completely different experience. Even after several hundred accumulative throws (be sure to make a target with the specs recommended in Gil Hibben's Throwing Guide), they haven't bent, chipped, or warped... even with the occasional nasty *CLANG* sound when you miss (no one's perfect). I can get most noobs to BURY one of these in my target within 5 throws when they follow instructions. Their weight and balance is amazing. Long story short, these knives were a great deal, and are virtually indestructable. And the price can't be beat. Ideal for beginners and advanced throwers alike. And once you master these, Hibben Pro Throwers are the next logical step... but that's another review! Enjoy! 2007-12-31

Simply the best
Once you've worked with cheaper practice knives the Hibben level knives are where you move up to. They are extremely well balanced, solid and heavy enough to get a good stick into the target or tree even with a light throw. I have yet to bend any of them like I do with cheaper throwers even after several bad throws and several hundred good ones. To sum it up they are a great product for a great price. 2007-01-05
