Works pretty well for such a tiny thing
I was looking for a good, bright flash light before going on my recent camping trip. After looking through Amazon, this little puppy caught my eye, and I ordered it. I got the light 2 days before the trip, but it would not work by turning. I went out and bought a universal ac/dc power adapter (which was more than the light itself) and charged it for a full night. Still, nothing. What's worse is that after about 2 minutes of cranking, the crank just wouldn't turn anymore. So as you can imagine, I was not happy and went on my trip with another light.
I contacted Kaito before I left and explained my situation, and when I got back, they had sent me a replacement light free of charge. Customer service was excellent, and they shipped the new one out very quickly. When I took apart the old one just to see what was wrong, I noticed that one wire had somehow came off inside, and that was the reason why the power was not flowing throughout.
The new light works just as described, and easily out lasted the 20 minute of charge it stated with 1 minute of cranking. The lights are pretty bright, but not as strong as a mag light for outdoor use. So I this would be perfect for doing small work outside, or in case of emergencies... but I wouldn't really rate it as a travel light (unless it's an emergency). The radio works well, and is quite loud and clear. I really like the small size of it, and glow in the dark label on the handle to help you easily locate it. Overall, I think this is a great product. For the price, you may as well buy 2 and keep it around your car and house.

Emergency light
The light and radio works exactly as described. I bought two so I can have one in my car and one at home in case of any power blackout or emergency. It will also be very handy for camping. 2007-12-17

Kaito Crank Flashlight proves its worth in ice storm emergency
I recently purchased the Kaito Emergency Crank Dynamo Flashlight in the event of a minor power outage. It quickly proved its value in the ice storm that hit my city (Tulsa, OK) on December 9, 2007. We were without power for 36 hours and needed light as we spent the night in the cold and darkness. The Kaito came through with flying colors. After a 60 second crank, the flashlight was good for at least 20 minutes and was good and bright. I am going to buy another soon!

It's Like A Toy...
Very lightweight and much smaller than what it looks like in the picture. The radio knob came broken off. 2007-11-17

Great prices, works really well
Built sturdy and works well. I had no problem with radio reception, and the crank is ok. 2007-06-02
