MSR Duralite Mini Cookset

It is a great convenience to have non-stick pots for camp cooking. But as an ultralight backpacker it has been hard to find good pots. MSR's blacklight series is a nice design, but too big for my use. I was very happy to see that MSR had scaled them down to make this very lovely mini-cookset.

The smaller, 1 liter pot is perfect for ultralight solo trips, and the 1.5 liter pot is great for packing with a friend. I love the innovation of putting a small pack-towel between the pots for a cleaning tool and to protect the finish.

My only gripe is that MSR does not make a dedicated lid for the smaller pot. There is one lid that fits both pots. There are two problems with this.

1. You can't efficiently boil water in both pots at the same time. How luxurious it would be to have a hot meal and a hot drink in the backcountry at the same time! Both pots, with two lids, would make an ideal 3 person cookset.

2. For solo camping bringing the smaller pot and an oversize lid is awkward. It packs less elegantly. Most of my trips are solo jaunts and it would be nice to find just the perfect 1 liter pot and lid.
