Nothing like cast iron-
I have cooked steaks, fajitas and eggs in my Lodge cast iron skillet. I can't explain why, but the taste of the food is better than if cooked in a standard non-stick pan. Cast iron is inexpensive and forever.

Love It!
I have had this pan for two weeks and I have yet to flub something up. Everything comes out beautifully--from fried eggs to upside-down cakes. Usually I have trouble with carmelized goodies burning on the bottom of the pan before I build a sauce after sauteing meat. Not with this beauty. Sauces are incredible. Cleaning is a breeze. Don't pass up this pan!

I recently purchased the Lodge Logic skillet specifically to cook a corn bread recipe. I've been a single guy for the past ten years and cast iron was low on my list of cooking tools since I was not really convinced that it was healthy. The thought of the pores in the metal gathering little bits of food for posterity made me a tad uncomfortable. Even though I grew up in the late forties and fifties with my mother frying everything in her twelve inch cast iron skillet, I was a bit squeamish about having one myself. Add to that the seasoning process and long term care required, I passed for years. Well.... this skillet is great. The preseasoning was a big selling point as were the many positive reviews on Amazon. Upon receipt of my order which included the lid, I had to try it out. In short, the corn bread came out perfect and I have since used it to sear a pot roast which worked even better. I will be using this skillet more as time marches on and am pleased with the purchase. The only negative opinion that I have concerns the shipping. This item was poorly stablized in the box which caused the skillet and lid to come together causing a few scrapes. The damage was minor but could have been worse.

great value
great value for this product -- even cooking, needs a little preseasoning before using, though.

No more T-fal for me...
Finally bought our first cast iron skillet. Love it! Great for eggs, meats, everything. Get the Lodge 10 1/4 lid, it's worth it. It comes pre-seasoned but I think I'll season it myself to see if it helps prevent some minor sticking we've seen around the edges of our omelettes...
