Light switch
I purchased the light and the switch worked only a few times, we hadn't even removed it from the packaging when it quit working. I think I would have liked it but I really didn't get to find out because the switch quit working so quickly. 2007-12-29

Yay, no batteries!
These flashlights are great! They're easy enough for my kids to crank and we don't have to change batteries anymore. The light is plenty bright for reading under the covers or playing flashlight tag or for use in emergencies. 2007-12-28

does the job
As wind-up flashlights go, this one is fine. It is harder to crank and not as bright as the Wind-n-Go, which I also have. Don't know about run time, but it works for small jobs. 2007-12-13

It really works!
We had bought a cheap model last year and found that no matter how long you wound it the light grew dim fast. No so with the Garrity. Once you wind it up the flashlight stays bright for a very long time. I decided to buy it because of all the great product reviews on Amazon and am very glad I did so. 2007-12-07

Buy this for your kids!
This flashlight is awesome. I'm buying 4 more for my little nieces and nephews to add in with their Christmas presents this year. Wind up flashlights are excellent for both boys and girls. Our family does a lot of camping and hiking, so these are nice for kids because they tend to leave the flashlight on at night (on accident or so they say) and then if it is battery powered it is dead by morning and now we have no flashlight for the remainder of our outdoor adventure. Having a wind up flashlight eliminates buying more batteries and scolding your kids for forgetting to turn them off. Plus - kids LOVE the wind up action and they get to see how they can control energy - like their own little science experiment! Very cool! 2007-11-28
