Good poles for the money
I read other reviews before purchasing these hiking poles. I did not want to spend a lot of money on them, as I am not an avid hiker...yet. I used them twice for snow-shoeing and they are great! The baskets remained in place (although my friend had the same poles and she lost one of hers in the snow) and the poles held up my weight. (I am not light!) Overall, these are great poles for the money. Highly recommended! 2008-02-11

So pleased!
My husband had me order this for him. I did and we got an e-mail stating that you received our purchase request. The very NEXT day we got another e-mail stating it had been shipped. And .. if it wasn't the next day, it was the day after that and THERE IT WAS! Not only are we impressed with the quality of the product, but we were blown away with the order/ship/delivery time! Thanks Amazon, for your purchase processing!!
The hiking pole is exactly what he had hoped for. Light, versatile, and guaranteed to last! VERY PLEASED!!

helpful if you are going to hike
We used it during our trips to great canyon, bryce canyon and arches this winter. It helped a lot during our hiking especially on trails with snow. It also has a built-in compass. The only drawback is it doesn't include a flash light which could be very useful at night. 2008-01-12

Broke First Use
The guard down by the tip fell off the first time I used it. I had to circle back to find it. The compass is useless- hard to see and inaccurate (at least it think) i bought two poles so the compasses are double useless- or maybe one was right- they point different directions- but still I give it a three because it is so much cheaper than all of the other walking poles. The other problem- if you don't tighten them up they can slip- after you tighten them up, don't expect to easily retract them for storage. 2008-01-12

Great value
Yes, they may not be as durable as the expensive models, and are slightly heavier, but you get 90% of the functionality of the expensive brands at 20% of the price. After I got my first set, I immediately went online and ordered a half dozen more, just to have on hand when the first set breaks. Well, I'm still on the first set, and they've been on top of Half Dome, 10 days inside the Tahoe Wilderness, and hundreds of miles of local trails. I'm very impressed by the durability of a supposed "cheap" hiking pole. 2008-01-06
