Paint is chipping after the first week...
I bought this after losing a very expensive Sigg bottle, hoping that the quality would be comparable. The paint chipped after the first week of use, and i'm not very tough on these bottles. I guess I'd rather spend twice as much for the durability of a Sigg. 2008-09-25

Good for the price --> Cheap
Not a great product. Plastic lid looses threads, and my mustache hairs get stuck in the "ring". 2008-09-23

Don't buy it.
As some other reviewers have stated, the threads on the bottle were warped so that pieces of the plastic top got shaved off every time I opened or closed it. I bought the bottle to avoid storing water in plastic and ended up with plastic in my water! 2008-09-14

great value for the price
I purchased three of these. The price was fantastic compared to all others I looked at. I love them because we carry water in the car for our little dog and I don't have to worry about it getting warm in the car and leaching plastic chemicals. I love that they come with little clips attached so you can clip them on your belt. I also like that we save money on bottled water. We just fill these from our reverse osmosis faucet and go. 2008-09-14

Needs Work!
This bottle has the right stuff to be a good water bottle but needs some work to make it so.
The cap tends to leak at times because it is polycarbonate (do we know if the polycarbonate is BPA free?) and the bottle stainless steel. The threads don't match closely enough. Sometimes just starting to put the cap on again is enough to make it seal properly.
You can't store this bottle filled with 1/4 to 1/3 water in the freezer. If you do it will break the seal between the bottle and it's inner bottom (which you can't see and is poorly sealed together) forces the outer bottom off of the bottle which will make the bottle useless.
The neck and mouth are slim you can't put full-size ice cubes inside.
To make this bottle a truly satisfying bottle for all it needs to be offered in choices of sippy, sports (with cap over drinking top), poly loop, poly flat, steel loop, steel flat cap.
Another thing that could be added to make the bottle even better would be a sleeve type carrying case like those used in the Camelbak hydration models. I actually found some sleeves at Walamrt that worked well when stretched. I added them to all of my bottles which in turn offered me another way to carry and drink from the bottle that is much easier than relying on the loop poly top and holding the cold bottle!
A few upgrades and this would be a wonderful bottle for all hiking and camping. Adding more features that CamelBak has choices for tops, for continuous hydration, and easy carrying would make this bottle superior to all.
The right stuff that it does have-#304 Food Grade Stainless Steel which is a sanitary material for safely transporting any beverage (doesn't have the problems associated with BPA polycarbonate bottles or the mystery ceramic liner in the Klean Kanteens) which is environmentally friendly, reusable, & cools quickly
The metal taste that some reviewers have written about is removed with a wash of vinegar or baking soda for you really sensitive types but I have found that taste does not remain past the first few uses.
Dishwasher safe??? Possibly, but why bother when it is so easy to wash and rinse by hand, fill and pop back into the frig for the next hike or camping trip?
